Weligama Bay is Sri Lanka’s de facto surf school – a wide, protected bay with a gentle right-hander that forgives beginners and rewards those who commit to it properly. The two-hour lesson runs from a beach warm-up and pop-up technique through to two hours in the water with a qualified local instructor, building from whitewash to a proper green wave by the end. Available as a standalone experience or woven into a longer touring itinerary.
