The Kelani Ganga at Kitulgala offers Grade 3-4 white water through a rainforest gorge – approximately 12km of river with a sequence of named rapids (Baby Rapid, Belts and Braces, Temple of Doom) and calmer recovery stretches in between, jungle closing in on both sides throughout. Run by certified operators with safety kayakers on the water and helmets and life jackets provided, this is a genuine adventure that takes half a day and leaves most people wanting to go again.
